Tish began working with TRIO Educational Talent Search in 2008 at WKU as an Academic Coordinator. She became the Assistant Director of TRIO Talent Search at the University of Louisville in 2012 and then became the Director of TRIO ETS at BCTC in 2022. Tish enjoys working with middle and high school youth and is most passionate about helping students find their purpose in pursuit of their college experience.

Chelsea joined ETS as an advisor in 2022 after previously working as a classroom teacher for several years. She has loved getting to educate and motivate students in a new capacity. As a first-generation college graduate herself, she is passionate about helping ETS students succeed both in middle and high school and in getting to college.

This will be Jordin’s first year as an advisor with the TRIO ETS program. He received his bachelor’s degree at Transylvania University in 2017. Since then he have been in numerous positions from a server to a store manager. As of recently, he started substituting at Fayette County Public Schools where he found his love for helping kids who look just like him.

Destiny began working with TRIO ETS in the spring of 2023 at BCTC. She loves graphic design and manages the social media for ETS. She is currently enrolled at BCTC to get her degree in graphic design.

ETS (Educational talent search) is a program for 6th graders to 12th graders to help them prepare for college and give them all the tools they need to succeed.
Who are we looking for?
6th-12th graders who want to go to college
What is ETS?

What do we offer?
- Free monthly in-school workshops to develop academic and personal skills for the future.
- Free events like ACT prep, financial aid workshops, and summer camps.
- Free college visits to help you choose your dream school.
- Any help you may need.
Fayette County:
- Crawford, Leesetown, Lexington Trad., Morton, Tates Creek, Winburn, and Southern middle schools
- Bryan Station, Henry Clay, Fredrick Douglas, Lafayette, Tates Creek, Great Crossing high schools.
- STEAM Academy
Clark County:
- Campbell Jr. High
- George Rogers Clark High school
Scott County
- Scott county high and middle school
TRIO Educational Talent Search
Educational Talent Search is one of eight federal TRIO Programs funded by the US Department of Education. TRIO ETS at Bluegrass Community and Technical College is located on the Leestown Campus in Lexington, KY. We serve a minimum of 680 students attending target schools in Clark, Fayette, and Scott Counties. ETS also serves adults desiring to re-enter and complete their education by attaining a high school diploma or GED and pursuing postsecondary education.

Welcome to the SAEOPP STEM Bridge Building Competition. Using materials supplied by SAEOPP, students are tasked with designing and constructing a model bridge using the construction guidelines provided. Each team may consist of up to 6 students and one supervisor. The bridge must be built at the competition within a 3-hour time limit.
Bridge Building
High-Q is a quick recall team competition for Educational Talent Search High School students. Each competition consists of a round robin format with multiple rounds. Each team consists of up to six students with four students playing in a round.
Academic Bowl
Academic Bowl
Educational Talent Search is putting together a team of middle schoolers for the Academic Bowl, and we want you!
Academic Bowl is a series of competitions for Educational Talent Search Middle School students. An Academic Bowl team can consist of between 6-12 students. The competitions held are a Spelling Bee, Written Exam, and Super Quiz. Both individual and team awards will be given from each category and the overall winner will be determined by a team score from the three events.
